Introduction to electronic music production

With Jared Ross (Skin & Bones), Louis Fourie (Lockjaw) and Matt Boyer (Apex, Delphic)

Our introductory course provides students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to produce electronic music. By the end of this course students will have the tools necessary to complete a song. This course assumes no prior knowledge and all experience levels are welcome.

Students can expect to cover:

  • Basic music theory
  • Recording and programming percussion
  • Writing chords, bass lines and melodies
  • Layering and widening sounds
  • Creating natural sounding rhythms and grooves
  • Sampling and using vocals
  • Audio effects

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people wishing to write their own music but only have limited experience with Ableton Live and music composition.

Details

Introduction to Electronic Music Production is a 10 week course but can be completed at the pace of the student.
